The right contract for the right project – sounds simple, right? But with so many different residential building contracts on the market, advising your client on the right contract for their project can be more challenging than it first seems.
Join us as presenters, Nathan Abbott and Jonathan Mills of Colin Biggers & Paisley Lawyers, take a detailed look at some of the more commonly used standard form suites of building contracts – ABIC, HIA, MBA – and examine their similarities and differences – to provide you with the tools that you need to assist your clients in their selection of an appropriate residential building contract for their project and to administer the contract with confidence.
Nathan is a Partner at Colin Biggers & Paisley Lawyers and is specialist construction lawyer with 25 years’ experience. He advises a range of clients how best to document their projects, and how to avoid and resolve disputes. He has a particular interest in the intersection between domestic home building contracts and statutory consumer protection. Jonathan has been a solicitor since 2012, having previously worked in the construction industry. In addition to his experience with domestic construction contracts, he also specialises in Security of Payment disputes.
